June 7, 2010: Somerset, KY;

Sundays races kicked off with the second heat for the Pro Am classes. Saratoga Stampede's Dr. Mike Jensen said they broke a drive line in the first race, went back to the wet pits, repaired it and father and son ran together in different classes. Kyle Dietzen of Simmons Racing took to the announcers stand and gave kudos to the local Thunder Run team for a great Saturday run.

The Cat Outboard race was moved to the third slot so teams could get their equipment dialed in; Local area MPH Motorsports owner Skinny used his skills to work on the Popeyes and Typhoon boats. Stan Ware and his son Stan Ware Jr. made it out of the wet pits just in time to start in the Pro Am Extreme class, but broke a power steering pump and went back to Burnside Marina. Repairs were once again done and the boys went on to finish second in the Cat Lite race after Team Phoenixparts.com Cat Lites took off on the 4.5 mile long course that doglegged under the Highway 90 bridge and sped directly in front of the primo land and spectator boat viewing areas.

Team Mapei with Gary Ballough and J. C. Chabub led the race from the start with Ryan Beckley and Isaiah Blount finishing a strong second. All the official results are posted on www.offshoresuperseries.com

TalkOffshore.com and OSS announcer Martin Sanborn welcomed OSS IT Director Tom MacKnight as co-announcer for the races. Sanborn said Tom was a great addition and gave new insights to the challenging job of keeping track of how the races are run for the radio audiences. Lake Cumberland Grand Prix producer J.D. Hamilton added this event to many hes involved with and gave everyone some interesting statistics The Lake draws more annual visitors ( five million) than the Grand Canyon ( four million) and Yellowstone National Park ( three million). Announcer and Powerboat P1 USA director Sanborn talked about his organizations involvement with the American Vee Lite class and building up the sport here.

The race day ended with fans and area photographers seeing an up close and incredible drop by OSS med/safety divers Jeremy Sylvester and Ricardo Pardo from the race course helicopters. This was a simulation rescue of what happens in the case of an accident where racers need help extricating themselves from their boats.
